NMAs Newcomer Shortlist Announced

LG Publicity is a producer for the Nordoff and Robbins Music Therapy Charity’s Northern Music Awards, and recently collaborated with leading indie music station XS Manchester to announce the Newcomer of the Year Award shortlist, live on the airwaves.

The ten nominees are a perfect example of the diverse new talent across the North, and two of the finalists were chosen by XS Manchester to perform at their VIP only XS Live gig at renowned grass roots music venue Lions Den on Deansgate Mews on Sunday November 12.

The Pale White are a Newcastle rock trio, shaped by familial influence, quickly gained attention with hits like 'That Dress' and 'Reaction'. Their gritty EP 'Take Me to the Strange' and transformative album 'Infinite Pleasure' cemented their status, despite the challenges of the pandemic. Now, with a refreshed lineup and self-produced tracks, they're releasing the EP 'A New Breed,' redefining British rock and setting their sights on a big 2024 and a new album.

Seb Lowe, is a talented 20-year-old wordsmith from Oldham and has gained remarkable prominence in the UK in a short space of time . With a TikTok following of over 450,000 and recognition as #Altmusic's featured artist of July, Seb and his band have captured significant attention. Alongside his online success, Seb has supported renowned bands like Blossoms and Paul Weller and performed at prestigious festivals including Glastonbury and The Great Escape. Recently, he sold out his debut headline tour across the UK, showcasing his talent at various notable venues.

As media partners for the NMA’s, XS Manchester will be interviewing finalists of other prestigious award categories in the run up to the big event in Manchester - scheduled for early 2024 (all details announced soon!).
