About Laura
Laura Graham is a Manchester-based music and culture producer creating story-led projects that celebrate the artists, ideas and creative communities shaping the city’s sound.
After a 25-year career spanning publicity, broadcast and communications, including a prestigious CIPR National Excellence Award, Laura’s work now focuses on producing documentary films, livestream productions and cultural music projects that bring artists, audiences and industry professionals together.
She is the creator and producer of the documentary series Manchester: Unplugged, a cinematic music series exploring the stories behind songs born in the city. The series pairs intimate live performances with candid artist conversations and has reached almost 100,000 viewers on YouTube, attracting strong industry praise and media attention while building a growing online audience across social platforms.
Laura also played a key role in the creation of the Nordoff & Robbins Northern Music Awards, helping shape the concept, format and industry partnerships behind the inaugural event celebrating artists from across the North.
Alongside this work she co-founded StreamGM, an independent digital platform showcasing Manchester’s music culture through livestream broadcasts, documentary content and filmed performances. Productions Laura has delivered through the platform include the Haçienda 40th anniversary broadcast, streamed live to thousands from an underground car park, as well as major livestream projects such as Suffragette City, She’s In Control at Freight Island, and Sprechen Records’ 10th Birthday, capturing the energy of the city’s nightlife and grassroots music scene.
Her projects often sit at the intersection of music, culture and community, working closely with artists, venues, charities and cultural organisations across Greater Manchester.
Laura’s work has been recognised with multiple industry awards including the CIPR National Excellence Award, Prolific North Awards, Northern Digital Awards and Royal Television Society recognition.
She is also a member of the Nordoff & Robbins Northern Music Awards Committee, supporting the charity’s mission to raise funds for life-changing music therapy.
